# An app or site doesn't load

## What you see {#symptom}

Most things work while Potatso is connected, but some apps or sites don't load.

## Likely causes {#causes}

When only some apps or sites fail, the cause is usually the route their traffic takes or the server it goes through:

- **One of your rules sends the app's traffic the wrong way.** For example, a rule sends it directly when it needs the proxy, or the other way round.
- **The app blocks VPN and data center addresses.** Some apps refuse connections from the addresses servers use.

## What to try {#fixes}

1. **Switch to Global mode on the home screen.** Global mode sends all traffic through the proxy. If the app works then, one of your rules sends its traffic the wrong way. See [Outbound modes](/docs/guides/outbound-modes/) and [Rules and rule sets](/docs/guides/rules-and-rule-sets/).
2. **Try a different server.** Some apps block VPN and data center addresses.
3. **Send a report right after it fails,** so the logs still show what happened.

To see the advice in the app, open **Settings** > **Troubleshooting** and tap **An App or Site Fails**. **Check Internet Access** on that page runs the [no internet check](/docs/troubleshooting/no-internet/#check), which tests your network, the VPN, your server and DNS.

On the **An App or Site Fails** page, tap **Send Report**. Potatso opens an email to support with recent logs and your configuration attached. Say which app or site fails and when.
